WI Rare Birds: 1st Week of April

These are some rare species that have been found historically in the state during the first week of April.

  • gray partridge
  • mew gull
  • ancient murrelet
  • American three-toed woodpecker: there was one found in far northern MN over the winter. This year doesn’t seem to be “their year,” but always check the burned forests!

Very rare but possible feeder birds…

  • curve-billed thrasher
  • green-tailed towhee
  • black-throated sparrow
  • lark bunting
  • black-headed grosbeak
