We started the morning walking the entirety of the paved trail at Enos Colburn park looking for migrants. We weren’t disappointed! There was plenty of warbler activity, which made for many of our first of year (FOY) sightings.
We then walked Baird creek trail on and off as we tried to social distance. That meant veering off the main trail a number of times to unmarked footpaths. We ended up on a bike path that led us to the large clearing in the preserve. We cut across the clearing and down the sandy washout to the road. Then, we made our way back in at the wetland bridge, and walked the trail (more or less) back to the parking area.
Then, the afternoon took us to bay shore bluff lands. We walked all the way out on the prairie trail, and into the woods a bit before backtracking.
